Berlin, Prague and Poland were crazy. I have too much to say now about my adventures. As I speak, my one roomie from my Krakow hostel is behind bars in the police station. He passed out in some stranger's house which got burglarised on the same night. Man, crazy country with crazy tourists. I cannot wait to write them all down! But that will have to wait for now since I am so darn worried about my flight back to London. Eyjafjoell volcano, please do not mess with my travelling plans. You've got to know, everything in my life is perfect, so I gotta board this flight tonight and head back to London to take my last exam! I need this grade badly!

Ugghhh. I will be back blogging about stuff within the next 4 days.

12C

Dear Bloggie,

Really?? 12 Celsius for May's weather in London. Honestly, 12C... No, not really. Look, today's weather is 12C... What?? Yes, it's 12C today. Seriously, it's 12C today.

And it's supposed to be spring =/

One exam down! one more to go in 13 days. Before I turn delirious, I am gonna take a break first. Tomorrow, this very same second, I shall be standing in front of the Berlin Wall taking pictures of the historical barrier.

Love from London,

Study Break

First exam is in 1 day and I feel like my brain is gonna burst soon, but today was helluva study break. I'm exhausted but I'm glad I finally had a day off away from my books.
Free ice-skating with the girls at Alexandra Palace.
God knows how Sherene found out about the deal, but she happened to be on the most random website. Turns out that they're closing down this ice skating rink for renovation and were giving out free ice-skating slots today! :)
Those shoes killed me btw.
In order of height...
The lovely group. Sushii's leaving really soon in 12 days. I will miss you so much!
All three of them were such pros and I could hardly catch up. I was a little better by the end of the day, but I was still not fast enough.
Haha. Sherene and Sarah marvelling at some pro's skating skills.
Before I headed back to Baker Street to start crunching the numbers again and burn another midnight's oil, we made a pitstop at King's Cross station to take pictures at the 9&3/4 platform, made famous by the Harry Potter series. Nothing spectacular about it really, but I'm glad I made it there finally =)

Saturday love

Time spent with my beloved yering = love. Is there any equation to express that in clearer terms?

Met Justin yesterday for Thai food, and he was such a gentleman to walk me over to Yering's place for sleepover! Yering refused to lend me her clothes, not until I hop into the shower before bed time. Yes, I have such a lovely relationship with her :) Then she announced that we would be going over to Marylebone the next day to catch the train to Bicester Village for outlet shopping. Hello auntie yering, Marylebone is just beside my dorm, why on earth did u ask me over to your place??

We had yoghurt on the bus this morning, front seat, and I kid you not - that is the best seat ever. I love sitting on that spot because it gives me a 270-degree view of everything around me and I can pretend that I am driving the bus from high above. I like spacey seats/areas and I love sitting there by myself whenever I'm feeling down. Anyway, we caught the train to Bicester Village and literally ran off the train to be the first ones in line for the taxi. That's because it was a Saturday, there were lots of people, and we were being kiasu Asians.

That's my partner-in-crime for the day!
Oh and guess what I saw: Burberry made in Malaysia!!!

Had an amazing time shopping (well, mostly because she bought a lot of stuff) and I bought 2 very cheap working dresses before we headed back to Marylebone to have Nandos for dinner. Miss Ngan, thank you so much for introducing such yummylicious food to me! Now at least I can talk about peri peri chicken without pretending that I've had it before. Hehehe.

I lost my Nandos-virginity to this crazy woman. We had an entire chicken and two large sides. The couple who was sitting beside us looked at us as if we were crazy. How can these two tiny Asians finish everything? but we did!

Now, back to reality. 5 more days to first exam! Ganbate!

The simple pleasure in life...

... is sitting along River Thames while enjoying a Cornetto ice-cream (even though I think the indian guy at the store over-charged us)! Yes, I think I'm recovering from my post-laptop-died-stress, all thanks to Chris (or maybe not)??  (I stand corrected: it is all due to him). I think being around people helped a lot though. Chris made me dinner yesterday. Woot woot! Then we were supposed to watch a production at the Shakespeare Globe, but then it was some class production, so we ended up strolling along the River Thames and sat there to people-watch. This is my 5th time at the Tower London area, but I never get sick of this place! Beautiful place with beautiful people, what more can I ask?

Chris sacrificed his hot korean date to spend time with me! (NAH, I'VE SAID IT. I hope u are satisfied now christopher lim)

3.86 weeks till I leave London. Yes I have to make it that precise because time is running short for me. I have 1 entire week to re-explore London again after my final exams, and I have a plan....

Today, stayover at my beloved Yering's place :)

p/s: Chris I am turning on the comments option, just for u. happy?

Is this what they call post-laptop-died stress/trauma/or whatever u call it?

I am still feeling slightly disabled without technology around me and I get so easily frustrated and insecure nowadays. Meeeeeeeeeeh. I feel as if everything is going haywire. Earlier sunrises and later sunsets are throwing my life off-balance. The lift's broken down and I just submitted my portfolio in that tiny slot at the undergraduate office (That's how they do it here in the UK). How on earth am I supposed to know that my assignment actually went through?

I need to gain control of my life again. Pronto.

Goodbye

Goodbye baby, I sold my faulty laptop!! Feeling a little sad and incomplete without it, but I think I will survive for 5 weeks.

Sigh.

Sunday, April 25, 2010

Technology failed me once again... My laptop crashed this morning while I was still happily listening to Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment Like This". Yeah, a moment like this, almost caused a heart attack. My entire life is in this laptop and I swear I was nearly in tears. I grabbed my keys, my wallet and cellphone, flung the laptop into my backpack and dashed out to find the nearest IT shop.

Thank god it's just some digital card problem. My hardware is safe!!! Yeay to my Easter break pictures. Mummy would have yelled at me if I lose them. Talked a little to the guy at the IT shop, negotiated and flashed my pearly smile, and got him to sell his services and a 250GB external hard drive so that I can transfer my entire life into a safe place. All that for 60 pounds. Don't know if I got conned (I shouldn't think so), but I can't be bothered anymore. After 1.5 hours in that shop, I finally made it out with all my data intact! That dude who fixed everything wanted to be facebook friends with me. lol. good luck with that mate. I doubt he'll be able to find me with just my laptop log in name. haha. hahaha.

So now question is: Fixing it would cost 120 pounds. I bought it for about 450USD. Selling it now would give a return of about 90 pounds. To sell or not to sell?

Mojito clearly does not = to Baileys

So today we gave Kelley a surprise bday dinner. She was under the impression that it would be a romantic dinner with Alyssa, but Alyssa was secretly planning for this behind her back...

"Guys, make sure u leave Marylebone at 630pm latest, cause we are gonna leave at 645pm, and u don't want to bump awkwardly into us at the tube station. Be at the Lebanese restaurant at 7pm!"

Kelley was obviously surprised. Duh.

I ordered the Major Bailey's drink, thinking that it would have Bailey's in it, but it tasted more like Mojito! Never mind that, since I like minty drinks anyway, but this restaurant has got to get their orders right =/

Me and bday girl, who went for an acupuncture session for her bday! She is so in touch with her Asian side. Not gonna lie, I am too afraid of needles to even try that out. Maybe one day, if you point a gun at me, I will do it. Otherwise, forget it. The idea of having needles poking through my skin is too traumatising.
Had meatballs cooked with yoghurt sauce. Interesting combo, but lamb meat always go well with yoghurt, don't they?
We had birthday cupcakes back at Marylebone Hall. Happy 21st Kelley!
Kelley tried to blow out the candles that never went out, since they were magic candles.
So they had to put them out in a bowl of water. Haha. too funny! And then everyone was frantically trying to fan out the smoke, else the detector would go off and annoy the hell out of everyone in the building. Apparently, it went off yesterday at 12am, and I didn't hear a single thing. Wow, I am amazed. I usually wake up to the slightest movement and sound. I guess not anymore eh?

p/s: exactly 5 more weeks till I go back to Philly!
