My Last Lap in Kuala Lumpur

Yesterday was fun!

Neway Karoake + Buffet + Chit Chat + Soya Coffee + Ginger Lemon Tea + Kaya Toast + Shopping for my pink dress + Pharmacy Run + "Exploring" Sungei Wang Plaza for 10 mins.... Pui Khuan, it's more than what we used to do as roomies back in Nanyang Boarding! Whatever happened to our youth? We wasted such precious time together last time!

Pui Khuan and I

As per promised, I didn't put up other unglam pictures hor...
__________________________________________________________________

Evening was a mad impromptu rush as well... Bought a new watch, dinner with parents, Supper with Stef, Tim, Justin and Boon Tat. On our way back home, I casually commented that I wanted to play mahjong, so we went to Justin's place for midnite Mahjong madness. I won on average 15 out of 20 rounds! Justin was fuming mad coz he didn't get to "Eat" a single round until the last one. Lol. Thanks for all the last minute activities together! I really appreciate it :) Poor Justin had to wake up at 8am somemore...

Once again, bye bye Malaysia! I will be back someday...
MV Explorer/ Canada, here I come. Bring all the adventure on! I'm psyched :) Might be MIA-ing for a few weeks folks. Tata!

We are true blue Malaysians

When you live in a certain country, you tend to put off visits to famous places, just like my parents. My parents are born and bred in Kuala Lumpur, but they have yet to set foot on the famous Petronas Twin Towers Bridge. So today, I decided to pay it a visit. It's free anyway! They give out 1000 free tickets daily. If I do not go now, when will I ever fork out the time to visit it? Anyway, I had a very good friend with me today to join the line with me! :)
I woke up at 5:30am, caught the train to KLCC stop, and made my way to the counter. My my, so early also got people lining up already. I always thought only Singaporeans can be kiasu, I didn't think Malaysians also like that one! :P

The crowd at about 7:45am

Chris and I at the waiting room :) We were one of the early risers, so we got the FIRST BATCH tickets to get onto the bridge! muahahaha! Fresh start eh?

In the video room with cool glasses.

So many lift buttons!

Chris and I - proud owners of our tickets! We waited 1.5 hrs for them ok?

I didn't know Malaysia has such beautiful scenery. lol.

Looking on with my hopes and aspirations =p

And finally, I am proud to be a Malaysian!

Wart, wart, go away!

Ahhhhh, I've been meaning to get rid of this annoying wart on my toe since last month, but circumstances did not allow me to do so. First it was exam week, I was afraid I couldn't walk to school, then it was travelling home, then to Singapore, then the doctor told me my skin isn't healthy enough to operate on. Finally, today, I got it removed through cauterization! Yeay :)

The remnants of my burnt skin. Injection was darn painful, but after that it was painless. My skin smelled like bbq skin though o_0
Bandaged toe... Poor feet. Now it's all bloody. I shan't scare you with gory pictures. I want a speedy recovery asap! I'm sailing in 2 weeks :)

Mission accomplished! well... kinda

I think scrapbooks are such fun things to do! I've been collecting stuff to put in my very own scrapbook. Now that I have some free time, I can finally work on it!
Beginning of my mission.... There's not enough space on the table, so I had to improvise by spreading out everything on the floor =p

Some examples of my fabulous work! :)

That's it lor! I still have more to work on... Scrapbook to be continued...

The babies in my life

So yesterday my cousin gave birth to a baby girl. This cute little thing looks so fragile! I wanted to carry her so badly, but I'm so scared that I will break one of her bones. All I did at the end was to admire from afar :)
Pretty little baby isn't she? She's my third niece so far and I have another nephew, Adam. Everyone around me is getting married, and all of them are having babies. Damn, pressure leh. My mummy is complaining already, of course in a jokingly manner, but my relatives can't stop teasing me and asking me about my life after that. Do you have a boyfriend ha? How about your sister and brother? Any chances of getting married soon? Aiyo, give us a break la, we're all still studying! lol. Anyway, we have so many additions to the family lately already. We're expecting another boy end of this year! Yeay :D
This is Claudia. A cutie, isn't she? She ran up to my aunt, signalled to her that she wanted the drink on the table. Ahhhhhh, I want to pinch her cheeks! She is usually very very talkative and she moves around a lot, but she's shy around strangers. When I went to her place last week, she took half an hour to warm up to me. Gosh, she is a handful to handle after that manz. I got so tired after playing with her and her sister, Chloe.

Claudia looking really satisfied with her drink :) The drink looks so oversized in her puny arms.
Me and Chloe! She, like Claudia, is shy around strangers. When I first popped by their house, she didn't really know me, since I'm usually not around for family functions, but the moment she found out that I am Missy Kuku, and I have a camera, she just practically threw herself at me! Gosh, this little girl really likes to take pictures.
And this would be my cousin and her son, Adam. She married a British. Can you spot a tinge of British blood there? Once again, babies don't like strangers. So I ain't blaming him for crying in this picture. Not my fault k. I'm so motherly, so obviously I didn't make him cry =p

See, baby Adam so happy in his grandpa's arms. He's such a cutie too! Can I bring him back to US with me? hehe.

I think I have such an awesome extended family :) So many babies, and they're all so kawaii! I can't wait for the babies to grow up so they can start calling me Kuku and Yiyi!

My box full of memories

Memories....

They are a funny thing, aren't they? I have this huge box full of memories with me at home, and how naive it is of me to think that I can fit all of my memories into this box. No matter how hard I try to retain those bitter, sweet, painful, joyful and happy moments, they will slip away...

I wish my memories will stay with me! I think I'm becoming more and more like Kiat, STM ahhhhh, always cannot remember things. It seems as if I have to empty some space in my mind to give way to the newer ones.

Anyway, 不用怕! 我有 blogspot , 我可以在这儿记下美好的记忆!

So I started off my 5-days of adventure in Singapore with Council peeps. Although most of them who came were the guys (since most of the girls were busy with school stuff), I had a lot of fun nonetheless! I miss those days when all of us can just sit down and hang out without an agenda in mind and talk nonsense for the entire day. The guys were super hilarious! If only American guys can have the same kind of Asian sense of humor. bleh =p

Let me introduce to you some of my beloved friends here. On the left with the V sign would be Charles, and that is Cedric on the right. Cedric, a bright and upcoming doctor wanted to demonstrate the lump-check test, so Charles naturally became the model. Right now, we still see the smiling Charles.

Charles, still a little nonchalant about the demonstration...
Hehehe. I guess Cedric became too touchy eh? Charles: "Please ah Cedric, let me go. I'm scared!"

And this would be the council gang :)
GuangHao has such a beautiful face=p

Wesley!
Ronnie the man in action at Kbox.

He was sick, yet he still came out and sang with us. Thanks for giving me face Ronnie! I can always trust Ronnie to do things for us. When I finally decided that I would be in Singapore that weekend, Ronnie called Kbox to book the place. He was like the first person to call 3 weeks in advance and we got the biggest room! Yeay Ronnie. Do you know these little things that you do for me all the time matters a lot to me? You are the best Ron!

Now this is Kiat. To me, Kiat is a self-proclaimed buyaolian dude. He can sing well, and because of that, he teases me all the time at KBox. He thinks he has the right to do that, but actually no lor. Pls la, I also human. Can you please tone down on the teasing part? Nonetheless, I still love him :) He's my besty now. If only I can cut myself into half and be with people like Kiat in Singapore. Sigh, I guess sacrifices have to be made since I was the one who decided to leave....... All these parting with my loved ones and beloved friends are making my dainty heart even more fragile. Blaaaaaaaaaaaah. Anyway, whatever secrets u wanna know about me, ask him. But I think he won't say anything la, right Kiat? I trust you :) If you make me angry, I will hunt you down and explode in front of you!

And these would be rest of S12A people who came to the Mind Cafe to chill out with me. Again, all boys. Whatever happened to the girls ah???????

Ok this shy little girl would be Lim Shy Min. Shy Min has a swollen cheek because of her wisdom teeth. I think you can't really see from the pictures, but she was munching on her vegetables (carrot, lettuce, corn etc). We call it the Rabbit Food. It's plain, but it's a necessary evil if you wanna recover fast. She's so cute!

Shy shy hiding the swollen side of her face!

Lee fang :) My roomy for 3 years at Nanyang Boarding!

It was pretty difficult to arrange a meetup session with both of these lovely ladies, since I had to travel all the way to NUS, go through temperature checkup at NUH (because of the Swine Flu), sat the the hospital lobby, waited for Fang Fang, then Shy came and joined us. Despite it being a short lunch, it was great catching up with them! Time really flies, and I can't stress enough how much I miss home and Singapore. All the important people and friends in my life are back in Malaysia and Singapore, and I only get to see them (the most!) once a year. Can someone please invent a teleporter and make travelling faster and affordable? Pretty please?

This is Marcus Ong, Mong for short :) He's got to be one of my favorite people from RJC coz he was my Co-OGL! :) Mong has accepted UVA's enrollment decision, so he's gonna be in US and the A, at one of my favorite schools! I am so jealous, I want to go to UVA as well. aaaaaaaaaahhhhhh. I guess now I will have one more friend and one more place to visit during my school breaks now. yeay! :)

Jinglin and I!

Jinglin was my council buddy! She damn zai, own her uni already la. GPA 4.0 all the way o_0 No matter how hard I study, also cannot achieve that. Jinglin is so cute. She was the one who requested to have breakfast at Tiong Bahru coz she heard the hawker center has really good food over there, but when we were there, we ended up eating Yakun Kaya Toast for breakfast. Jinglin, like me, complains a lot about the hot, humid weather and she couldn't take it the moment she stepped out of her house, so we decided to stay within the comforts of the air-conditioned Tiong Bahru Plaza. haha.

Mark, my 2nd council buddy! He's in army right now, and he's taking accountancy courses on the side. Wahhhhh, why all my council buddies so hardworking one?

XiuWen and I :) She's interning at Citibank right now... Like I said, everyone around me is growing up so fast. I want to be like Hiro Nakamura in Heroes, so I can stop time, and go back to the past!

Anyway, here's just a little something to end of my entry :)

Friends, together in this memory, I see your smile :) I will hold dear all these memories, till the end of time... Thank you so much again for meeting up with me! Esp to Ronnie bro, thanks for putting up with me at your humble adobe. Ronnie threatened to charge me rent if I overuse the water. So how, did you check the water meter? I hope I was a pleasant guest!

Home is still da best

I am finally home!

The 20-hrs flight was a torture. I used to enjoy flying, but not anymore. It is just way too tiring adjusting back due to jetlag and mind you, 20 hrs on a flight in the same seat is noooooooooo fun. My feet and my hands are swollen right now due to inactivity during the flight.

So when I'm finally home, first thing I had was my mummy's home-cooked breakfast. I haven't had such a great meal with awesome companionship in a while! I talked non-stop with my mum as if tomorrow would never come. I kinda have a list (like how JoAnn has a list of things to tell me at the end of the day) about the things I want to tell my mum, and I am still trying really hard to strike things off this list!

One thing that reminds me most about home are the chores that I have do at home. My mum is the no-nonsense kind of person. The moment I stepped into my room, the chores begin for me. I still kinda have to put together my bed with bedsheets and scrub the entire bathroom floor, sink, tub and toilet bowl myself. I wanna say that is an extremely good workout after the awesome breakfast. I ain't complaining. In fact, I think these are things that makes it feel really like home! haha. Don't judge me. I am that weird.

Anyway, this is just a little quickie I'm taking before I start unpacking my books and things that I brought home.

Welcome home, Vi-Zanne Ho :)

Of family, friends and food...

This is my cousin's daughter (only 4 years old!). She was still studying at 1030pm. Oh my, what is happening to young kids nowadays? They're losing their childhood! I think this word no longer exists in their vocabulary. Even worse, she is already learning stuff that I learned while I was in Primary 2/3 o_0

Anyhow, ever since I came back to KL, I've been playing, having fun, enjoying as much as I could!

This is my ah ma. Haha, do you see her slight smile?? I was pestering her to smile so I could take a picture of her. I know I act like a total kid sometimes when it comes to kacau-ing people.

Now there, this is my ah ma, picture taken from the front.

So far though, my favorite thing to do when I’m back in Malaysia is to eat. I told Ye Ring’s mum that I act as if I just came back from Africa. That’s how much I like eating Asian food. Just order anything from the menu and I’ll gobble up everything for u!
Food that I've eaten the other day at my ah ma's place are: Cha Sui, Sui Ngap, Tau Fu, Yao Za Guai and most imptly Durian! It's the durian season now. Aiya, forgot to take picture of the fruit durian itself pulak.

Chinese food's so oily, but they're yummy :)

Caught in the act eating durians!

So Ye Ring and I went to this Korean House to savour some authentic Korean food yesterday(shiok leh! I can’t get stuff like that back in America). Yering xiao jie so pretty pretty and professional alrd in her working clothes. She got her first paycheck yesterday so she decided to treat me. Thank you Ms Ngan! I know you will be reading this coz I know you have nothing better to do with your time =p

Ms Ngan.

This is one of my favorites. Lian Ou!

The food we ordered were making us lose our minds (at least good enough to make me lose my mind!) I love Asian food so much, in fact, that I have come to believe that in my delirium, my food would actually love me back. I think I am having a relationship with my food, almost close to affair. Haha. So while savouring my food, I can’t help but think, why do Americans bother to trying to make Asian food there? Nothing they make is even close to the authentic ones we get here.

I’m proud to be an Asian, simply because we Asians can whip up one of the best food!

p/s: a word about my body, im gaining weight everyday of course. I’m doing rude things to my body by taking in ghastly amount of food, oil, chocolate. I’m not exercising, but thank goodness im eating enough fiber. Praise the lord for giving us human such delicious looking food!
