Stupid things we did at Seattle

I discovered a really cool function on my camera that enables me to take a series of 16 pictures and squeeze everything into one frame.... That's me having a fight with Qianhui. Muahahaha!

And then we decided to practise some Yoga steps in front of a fountain.

Taichi is next on the list!

I tried really hard to hold the whale's tail.

World Famous Beverly Hills

Make a guess. What does Ped Xing means to you? We saw this sign at every other street in LA and it took us 3 days to figure it out. No prizes for guessing it though.

Anyway, I've always wondered what is there to see at Beverly Hills besides the residences of famous celebrities.

Nothing much. Just high-end shops selling extremely expensive stuff.
Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills

Even one ice-cream scoop like that costs US4 dollars. But I prefer Beverly Hills to Hollywood boulevard coz it has neighbourly places like the Santa Monica Beach :)

Nice beach with nice pretty girl inside the picture eh? hehe.

Universal Studios

Not gonna lie, Universal Studios is awesome! The hefty price you pay for admission is certainly worth it.

Last year at this same time, I took a picture with my brother outside Universal Studios.

This year, I chose to take it alone without Robyn and Qianhui in it. See what I mean when I say Universal Studios is awesome? Even the fake Hollywood sign is bigger and nicer than the real one. haha.
Our first stop was the studio tour. Many of the sets that were filmed in movies were actually built here! And when the tour guide told us that Desperate housewives' Wisteria Lane set was here as well, that got me really excited!
Back to the Future car.

Too Fast Too Furious Car. The very same night, they were airing the movie on TV. It's amazing how when you have seen those cars used in the movie, you can somehow enjoy the movie better.

Ok so this muddy place was actually in one movie, cannot remember the name though. More special effects to come next!

Rain rain started to pour after a few seconds. Fake one la of course.

Then the gush of water started to flow right down...

The water would then be recycled! :) So environmental friendly. Goody good production company :)

This would be the familiar Rome backgrounds used in movies.

And finally, Wisteria Lane for Desperate Housewives! Too bad the cast wasn't filming that day, otherwise I would have gotten the chance to see them live. This, I think, would be Edie's famous house. Only her house on the set is fully equipped inside to be used in movie productions.

Another house. It doesn't look as glam and nice as those on the actual show itself though.

And this would be the freaky murderer in the famous Bates Motel. Real person leh. Not fake one. He's carrying an old lady he has just killed. After putting down his victim, he came charging towards us and scared the hell out of me.

This would be the wreckage in War of the Worlds. Cool interior of the aeroplane.

And then there was Matt Damon standing outside after the studio tour :) Wish he was real though =p

At Universal Studios, you can find all kinds of weird things like this uber huge lips. Muacks!

Our next stop would be fire special effect stop. The entire place was dark initially but then they exploded the place with real fire right before us! I could literally feel the heat permeating towards me.

Right after taking in an overdosage of carbon dioxide gases, we decided to take a breather on top of the hill...

Then we went in line for the Shrek 4D show. I would give it a 4 star rating. The effects felt really real. When donkey sneezed, they spurted water out of the seat. When there were spiders crawling on the screen, I even felt something/someone touching my legs!

Next, we proceeded to watch the Waterworld show. It's some fight between the good and the bad, and it's ok. We sat in the wet zone and the actors threw buckets of water at us. Hmmppphhh...

I wish there were real rides like that. It's so cool to hang in the mid air and slide across!

This would make a great ride as well :D

Anyway at the end of the show, there was another explosion. Typical la.

After watching so many shows, I got so sick of them and I didn't really want to go for another one.... so it's the perfect time to start taking pictures with cartoon characters :)

FRANKENSTEIN!

Spongebob squarepants gave me lipless kiss. I swear I could hear him muack-ing from the inside!

And lastly, this dracula was trying to suck my blood.

The Home of Glamour and Glitz

Hollywood has been dubbed the home of Glamour and Glitz in Los Angeles. Yet I think Hollywood can do so much more to live up to its reputation. What you can do at Hollywood boulevard is only to walk along the Walk of Fame, visit a couple of musuems and the Chinese Theatre, take pictures with those characters along the streets and tip heavily otherwise you face being chased after by them. Yes, you guessed it correctly, Hollywood isn't exactly my favorite place on earth.

The Chinese Grauman Theatre. We paid 10 dollars to watch a matinee show - Yes Man! in this extremely posh theatre.

There's where our 10 dollars went - contribution to the preservation of the theatre with extremely intricate designs and decorations.

Let me tell you why I don't love Hollywood. Tourists come all the way to this part of town and this is the closest you can see the Hollywood sign. Why can't they build a viewing point closer to the sign leh?

Secondly, they raised our hopes by giving us free tickets to Jimmy Kimmel Live TV show. We thought we were gonna experience the real live TV taping show. We waited for 1.5 hrs and then some idiotic guy came out and told us that they have more than enough people to fill the seats. Sorry folks, no Jimmy for you. I was like this !@#$%^&*()_)(*&^%$#@!

SJU Randoms

Since it's the last week at SJU, we decided to dress up really nice just to chill out together. We're that crazy and stressed-out. Well, at least that's true for me. I really need a break from studying, just go crazy for one night and resume running my last lap of marathon for Fall 2008!

Amy and Maura used to call me a creeper, but Migs can have the honour of taking over the role now!

This is Nate's special toy beside the Christmas tree. Apparently, no one was allowed to touch it, but he allowed me to play with it! It bellowed out a nice Christmas tune which me me really happy!

To my mummy: I told you, I ain't that heavy! See how everyone's still smiling. They exerted no effort at all while carrying me =p

Migs was trying to practice his salsa and swing dance moves on me so he could lash out his perfect skills when he meets his dream girl!

And finally, I went home a happy girl with a smile like this :D Hershey kisses chocs are the best!

Now I seriously need to get back to studying. Ugghh.
