Sistaaaaaaa's Weekend

I always tell my sister not to come visit me in Philadelphia because she messes up my place BIG TIME, she messes with my diet because she buys all the sweet stuff like a HUGE chocolate cake and expects me to finish it up, she messes with my sleeping time because I have to put in extra time to catch up on my schoolwork, and she messes up my schedule at the last minute - in short, she messes up my mind because I am a neat freak and perfectionist who works according to a schedule. Her presence throws me off guard, because my sister goes around my apartment and rummage through my stuff. She touches my books, applies my cosmetics, wears my clothes, and she does all these without my permission. But I love her all the same! hehe.

So when I went to school for a brief training yesterday in the afternoon, I came back to an apartment WITHOUT my sister around. Oh goddddddd, where did she go this time? I'm not a babysister for goodness sake! JoAnn happily told me that my sister found out that one of her couple friends (Devon and Sotako who met each other through my sister) lives at the next building in Presidential City as well. OMG. What a small world!

My sister and I are so vastly different. I always marvel at God's creation. We are like the total opposites. She likes the artsy stuff, I like numbers. She likes to talk, I like being quiet. She likes people around her, I like peace. And the list goes on... Don't think I can co-habitat with her under the same roof because I would probably wrestle and fight with her all the time and we would end up pulling out each other's hair.
Anyway, today, I brought her to Philadelphia downtown, just because she said she hasn't seen Philly and so she can go back and boast to her friends that her sister brought her around downtown Philly! =p

First stop was obviously the Liberty Bell at old town Philly. Enroute there, my sister asked me if we needed tickets to see that bell. I was like, NO, duh, otherwise I won't take you there because I am obviously not gonna pay a single penny for her and for me to see a bell, especially since it was my 1000000000000th time already.

When I was taking this picture, the old lady behind us wanted to see the picture that I took, because according to her, my sister poses really well. Sorry lady, I couldn't show you anything because my camera is crazy.

My sister, posing at the park where William Penn's residence used to stand in the past. God, she looks good. (p/s: because she was wearing my shoes! hehehe)

I'm such an awesome photographer!

And finally, this is us! I tried to stand really still to mimic the guy. haha. didn't work in the end.

Then, we walked to Chinatown from old city. Somehow I was really tired today, maybe because I slept at 2am yesterday... because of you la, sister and mummy! Talk talk talk so much on msn, I want to do my hmw also cannot. blahhhhhhhhh. So I had to stay up late to finish it up.

My sister buying Chinatown pastries... She LOVES them a lot, because Chinatown pastries are so Asian. haha. they remind us of home! We went to do some grocery shopping before catching the bus back to my place. It felt really weird, because I was paying for everything (even for my sister's groceries as she ran out of cash). I feel so grown up right now!

We went back and I started to chop chop chop the ingredients. I did everything, since my sister HATES cooking. She loves eating, but she doesn't cook. How weird is that?

Ingredients to cook 1) Vegetable with prawns 2) Chicken herbal soup and 3) Honey baked chicken. Yum yum!

And that's me cooking!

Yum yum! My sister said it was the best home-cooked meal she has had in ages. haha, mummy, if you're reading this, I have surpassed your cooking skills! :)

The end.

I felt droplets falling from the sky... wait, was it raining?

Yes, it was raining the entire day today! Disgusting weather. It's supposed to rain continuously for 2 days... Thank god I didn't have classes today and tomorrow's the weekend! I would hate to sit in class and stare out of the window as rain droplets splash across the glass panes. A good book and a hot cup of Milo sounds really good right now!
I had to go to school for the Wall Street Trading Room training session anyway today. Usually I would dread going for stuff like that, but this time it was different... They actually paid me to do it! I wouldn't miss it for anything else, not even if it's raining. But before that, I planted myself in front my computer for the entire morning... I was working on my applications and study abroad essays. Attention folks, I am going to UK for one semester from Jan-June 2010. Where exactly? LONDON. omg omg omg! But I keep telling myself not to get too excited yet, because I don't really know if my application will be approved...
So anyhow, went to school, got a 2-hr training on how to use the Morningstar Direct software. It's a sweet program... and you will be able to utilize it to access information about shares, stocks, funds, hedge funds, floats etc etc etc... and you get to graph results to do some serious compare and contrast work among the different companies! I think my finance knowledge is pretty limited, since I didn't understand a lot of things... but note to self: I will master it! If I master it, I will be able to learn the stocks pretty well, and I will be an awesome investor, and then I will be able to make smart investments, and I will be rich, and I can stop working and start travelling again! muahahaha! Ok, I'm day-dreaming. hehe. I like how even when I'm daydreaming, my end goal stops at travelling. Oh no, I think I've caught the travelling bug.
My mind started to wander a little, since I didn't really understand the software, and I started to check facebook. Emily, who's studying abroad in China right now, wrote on my wall. She said she's learning how to cook chinese food right now, so she can come home in the future and show off some superb culinary skills. Mmmmmmmm, dumplings sound really good right now, especially since I'm writing this at 225am and I'm hungry.
Received some really random emails from people from the actuarial field, asking me to apply to their work place. Just because I passed my actuarial science exam 1/P (which is a big deal btw), and my name is on the national database, I get random emails now and then... So much for my privacy... it's gone!
Went home after training and did some laundry after dinner. Then JoAnn called me, and off I went to Kuwan's place to hang out with her and her brother. We played Cho Dai Di, and I lost on ALL occasions. Where did my flair go? I guess I'm getting lousy alrd eh? We played The Game of Life after that, and Apples to Apples to wrap up the night. I was hungry, as usual, and Kuwan fed me ice -cream. AWESOME! thanks Kuwan :)

Eu Chen had the smaller bowl and I had the massive one! =p It was definitely PROPORTIONATE to our sizes, ok?

I find The Game of Life a scary reflection of our lives. Jo, who loves kids, had 3 babies in the game, and she married pretty early in the game. On the other hand, I (usually the extremely driven mad girl), was lagging behind everyone else. I was the last one to get married, get kids (had 1 only btw), and last one to get a house and settle down. My oh my, I hope it's not true! But hey, why would they call it The Game of Life, if there is no grain of truth in it eh? Let's see!

I'm off to bed now! Ciao everyone :)

One down from my bucket list

The new external harddrive that I purchased 4 days ago arrived in the mail today! Wee :) It comes with a 320GB hard drive, docking station and casing... My god, I've been making a lot of big purchases lately, but they are all highly necessary stuff ok? So it's justified!
Next item on the list: Camera.

Hey you! This one is for you...

Harlow, I am devoting time from my precious sleep to make up a blogpost for you, YAP KEAT BOON! Keat and I had this interesting conversation on Skype and I just can't stop myself from clicking away on the snapshot button because I LOVE YOU YAP KEAT BOON, and I thought that it was highly important to capture those special moments we shared on the virtual internet today :)
Keat making a funny face when I begged him to do it... Thank you for giving me face ah :)
Then when I requested for more silly faces, he refused.

I got refused AGAIN!
Rolling eyes at me?

When we started to talk about his elections stuff and he wanted me to help him with his speech, he smiled at me. Hehe, u think I stupid is it?
When I gave him samples of some speeches I had, he was over cloud nine!

And finally, when I commented on how good-looking he was on that day because he was wearing a jacket, his face lighted up INSTANTLY.
Bye bye bestie!

Keat ah, I just wanna say, life's ain't perfect, so you should stop worrying/ being upset about nonsensical/ minor stuff. Never take life seriously, because no one walks out of it alive anyway. OR think about it this way: if Harry Potter's so magical, why cant he cure his own eyesight and still needs a broomstick to cling onto? So you see, even someone as magical as him has challenges in life... You're not alone! Cheer up dude :) You know I will be there for you!
Smile and the world will smile for you :)

Great weekend!

In response to JoAnn's facebook status: JoAnn Melina Lopez had a great roommate weekend so far. Hey J. Lo, what is this supposed to mean huh? Were you expecting me to be a boring roomie? I am such a fantastic friend because I helped styled and cut your hair just now, ok? Hehe. I should have just chopped everything off =p
Anyway, I went to Hershey Town with JoAnn, Qianhui and Zhang Quan today. Just for clarification purposes, the Hershey factory, Hershey Park, Hershey Gardens are located there. Roads and shops and the high school are named after Hershey as well. Not gonna lie, it was a fun-filled day, partly because I was being silly again, and everyone was laughing at my funny mannerisms. But hey, at least I brought laughter and joy, right? And of course, that's pretty much the essence of Vi-Zanne.
I ate breakfast at 830am before we set off for Hershey Town, which was about 1.5 hours away. At about 10am, I was feeling really hungry, so I started nibbling on my packed lunch, and I gobbled everything. Jo was teasing me about my bottomless stomach and appetite after that...
Me sulking in my own little corner because of Jo's comments =p
After sulking for a few minutes, we were BFFs again :) That's the beauty of our friendship - nothing bad lasts.
We couldn't resist the urge to take a car picture at the red light.
Zhang Quan, the driver.
After driving for a pretty long time, we finally got a glimpse of the Hershey factory! My sister told me that the entire town is supposed to smell like Hershey chocs, but no one could smell it. I think I did catch a tinge of chocolaty smell, but I might be imagining things, or my sister might be lying... hehe
But I did smell the chocolates when we stepped into the fake factory assembly line. These cows were lined up in a corner to greet us with their lovely and melodious voices.
Chocolate syrup off the production line. I apologize for the blurry pictures because it was dark...
They gave us free samples, and of course, I have butter fingers and dropped my chocolate on the floor. Baaaaaaaah. I was left with one more Hershey Kisses to blow kisses at no one in particular.
The chocolate shop. Hershey candies are more expensive here apparently. Walmart and Target have cheaper ones!
This chocolate bar (REAL ONE) was half my size.
More kisses!
I have no idea why Zhang Quan was mad at me... Haha.
More kisses again, this time with Jo!
Bottle, again, it's half my size. Oh boy.
I just love the look on Qianhui's face.
Hershey's shotglasses... For chocolate shots maybe?
Hershey pillows. So expensive though =p
Hershey lipbalm!!!!!! These could last me a lifetime.
On our way out, we took a picture at the entrance to prove that we have really been there.
Sorry but I just found this sign really funny. Don't you dare get gas and then run away!

I was really tired on our way back, so I knocked out after lunch on Zhang Quan's really comfortable Harvard pillow. THANK YOU Jo for taking this GLAMOROUS picture of me (do u sense the sarcasm?) hehe. At least I still manage to cross my legs nicely when I'm asleep =p

The end :)

Date Night

We are such dorks. But you know what, I like being a dork. I like staying home on a Friday night with JoAnn. I like doing grocery shopping with JoAnn, and then coming back to our nice little home for dinner. It's like going on a date, but it's way less low key and I heart that.

So today, we walked to Pathmark, and while we were shopping, we decided that we wanted to make a pizza for dinner today, so we went scouting for a pizza dough, pepperoni, cheese and pasta sauce. We rushed back home, turned on all lights at the kitchen and started our "project". JoAnn was in charged of kneading the dough, whereas garlic bread and cutting of the ingredients were my responsibilty.
JoAnn preparing the board for the dough.
That's me and my bread.
Since I was wearing our couple shirt again, JoAnn decided that she would change and then our shirts matched!
Tada! New outfit :)
My sister said I should start writing journals and blogging everyday because I could write a story about my life... I agree! But obviously I'm not going to blog every single day, just because that's way too tiring. So let the pictures tell u stories of my night with JoAnn, shall we?
Laying the cheesy layer :) Then JoAnn took over.
While waiting for the pizza to be done, we started camwhoring again!

Checking out the pizza...
Blowing kisses to no one?
I got mad crazy when there were still 5 minutes left because I was hungrrrrrrrry. Grrrr.
Finally, the pizza was done!

Afterwards, we watched one of our favorite TV shows -How I Met Your Mother. I can't believe Robyn and Barney GOT TOGETHER!!!!!! Yeay! Both of us were screaming and yelling at the screen when we reached that scene... We had ice-cream to go with this perfect moment, so that made my night complete :) Pizza, How I Met Your Mother Finale, Ice-Cream. What a perfect way to end our school week!
Anyway, we're visiting Hershey Park tomorrow. Can't wait for free samples! Yum yum. It's labor day weekend, and I think I deserve this nice little break from school even though it's only the first week of classes. Bleh =p

p/s: I finished my scrapbook for Semester at Sea and I am so darn proud of my art work :)
pp/s: I bought a Solar Red color External Hard Drive from the net today. It took me so long to pick one coz I was so afraid that I would get a lousy one. Let's see what comes in the mail next week =p
