Bowling @ Wynnewood lanes

Alright folks, this is probably gonna be my last or second last entry of the month.... 2 more weeks to final exams and I'll be busy "mugging" aka studying!! haha. only singaporeans would understand the word mugging :P

Anyways, me and my beloved gang of friends went for bowling at Wynnewood lanes to support Amanda and Miguel's fundraising efforts. Aren't we just awesome friends? :)

While waiting for our ride outside Sourin, we camera-whored ourselves again! Sean is sulking. Apparently, he doesnt like to take pictures with me...

The Smurfs Group!

See what I mean?!?! Sean not smiling again. He doesnt like to stand beside the "crazy Asians". Lol. obviuosly, it's just a joke.

My side view when I bowl...

Use your imagination and connect the 2 pictures together, and you'll get the whole view!

Me trying to strangle Migs...

And then I gave Migs a loving hug. It's a love-hate relationship between me and bro migs :)

Asians time!

I like this one. Me and Jo.

I was trying to look like a gangster/ Ah Lian, but obviously mission failed.

Me and Grace Grace! Future roomies! :)

Score for our first game...

Score for our second game... I was the top scorer! 2 strikes in a row... should have gotten a 3rd strike for "turkey"!

Score for our 3rd game. I deproved so much. Oh... whatever. It's just a game. haha.

And finally, Jo and her prize! - "Lowest individual score"

The last week of March...

March 2008 was a special month for me.
To sum it up, I had:-
1- 9 March 2008: Spring Break, trip to Almost Heaven, West Virginia
15 March 2008: My Bday! Malaysian food and karaoke night out with the gang
20-24 March 2008: Easter Break.
Had the most relaxing break EVER, plus Indian food with Jo and Tony.

Both me and Jo at the Indian Restaurant..

Me still fantasizing about the food after 3 helpings!

28-29 March 2008: See below!

So, 28 March is the last Friday of March :) Pei Wei and The Game of Life was of course highlight of the night.

We are just a crazy bunch of people. It was so chilly out, but we sat outside, in open-air, and ate our dinner in the cold! I was shivering throughout, but my hot, spicy, Asian Curry kept me warm.

Only my crazy friends will do stuff like that in public.

As usual, Karl bullying me....

So, the Game of Life begins. In Game of Life, no one dies. But people will be filled with various emotions!
Like this:

Both Amanda and I left with Auto Insurance. We lost all our money and had to take a 20,000 loan!

But soon enough, we won our first 200,000! Woohoo!

And then more money!

Karl and Sean: We sued... we won money!!

Husband and Wife team - Carmen and Jo. Guess who wears the pants in the relationship?

When Carmen left, Jo lost her luck. It says on the board: Collect 420,000 if you have stock... Quote Jo: "F***king stock!" Jo doesnt have one. Aww...

But Jo became a millionaire tycoon after all!

And then Karl and Sean lost... :(

The end.

My bday!

How does it feel like to turn 20?? Honestly, life feels the same to me... but like one of my friends said, I'm no longer a teen! I'm no longer seven-teen, eight-teen, nine-teen! :( :( :( I'm no longer a teen!

Turning 20 just tells me that I'm 2 decades old. THAT'S OLD. I've lived like maybe 1/3, 1/4 of my life? with no regrest of course!! God (or rather Buddha) has been extremely kind to me :) I'm surrounded by people who never fails to shower me with tons of love :) I LOVE MY LIFE !!

So, basically, my 20th bday was awesome! On friday, Appalachia family baked me a cake when we had our little reunion. Midnight bowling with appalachia family was cool as well!

Reunion at Annie and Micaela's apartment.

Midnight Bowling... V signs for Vi-Zanne!

That's my second bday cake! We had no candles, so we had to improvise with 20 littles carrots instead. Cool!

My butterfly tattoo (fake) was attracted to the flower on the cake. Oooooooooooo...

And here's my other BFF, JoAnn :)

Highlight of my bday celebration was of course having Malaysian food at Chinatown! I think I kinda forced everyone to savour Malaysian food with me, but Im sure all of us enjoyed the food tremendously!

Dinner at Banana Leaf, Malaysian food restaurant at Chinatown...

And Karaoke was the best!! We didn't have air-conditioning in the room, but we had tons of fun and "sweated out" all the grease and fats from Malaysian food!

Karaoke!

Apparently, I was uber happy...
When it comes to karaoke, I'm all serious! It's intense.

And my BFF is crazier than me...

Sean and Jo with me and my bday gift!

Thank you everyone for the awesome bday celebration!

Appalachia - Almost Heaven, West Virginia

I miss my appalachia group!!!

I spent my entire spring break in West Virginia doing some hardcore work for the Habitat for Humanity project, and I'm proud to say that I've grown and matured during this trip... :)

It made me realize how fortunate I am. Really. I know it sounds cliche, but sometimes we've got to open up our eyes and learn more about the people and the world around us. Almost Heaven is a small town, with only the bare necessities for the people to survive on, but the people over there are happy and satisfied with life. Almost Heaven's great!! but I swear, I can never stay there for too long. Perhaps it's time for me to learn how to appreciate life, be thankful for what I have and stop complaining about life! :)

Oh well, besides learning and discovering about myself, I've had so much fun during this trip as well! The people in my group is just sooooooooooooo awesome! And we did crazy stuff throughout the trip.

That's GIANT V btw!! :) and celena looking up to me.

There were physical challenges everyday (That's what she said! Note: Insider's joke). Lol. One of the more interesting ones was Pumpkin Role Power Hour for me! Well, my groupmates did not believe that I could eat the whole role of Pumpkin cake with cream cheese, so I proved them wrong and downed all of them within 10 minutes. Show them the Asian power!!! HAHA.

Ultimate challenge of the trip was non-other than the Chicken Nugget Power Hour. Most of the people in the group were supporters, but some of us bought 60 chicken nuggets each. The challenge of the day was to eat a chicken nugget per minute and finish all 60 nuggets within an hour! I could never have done that, but I did eat 30 chicken nuggets (EWWW.... are u disgusted now??) lol. The winner of the day was Tom, who ate all 60 of them and won a gift certificate to wendy's.

Chicken Nuggets Power Hour Contestants!

Tom the winner! That was his last and 60th nugget btw. Notice his shirt. I wonder if the voices in his head were asking him to finish all 60 nuggets. Lol.

Well, to fill you in a little bit about our project, basically we helped build a house for a single mum and her kid. We didn't finish the whole house of course!!! But we did put up the tresses, put the boards up on the roof, lay the mat, and then lay the shingles on the roof. Did some windows as well!! Hey, I did climb onto the roof to hammer some nails in ok?? It was awesome actually. Kinda scary at first, but once I got the hang of it, I was enjoying my time sitting and hammering and chatting with friends on the roof actually. Heh, you never know, I might start climbing roofs when I get back to Malaysia!!!

That's me hard at work on the roof. So stop accusing me of playing a fool at the work site.

Sarah taking a quick nap at the work site.

This was the house on the first day....

And the house before we left West Virginia!! We built the roof! Yeay to appalachia! :)

We did some rock-climbing and hiking as well during this trip. Told you, appalachia trip was awesome!! Who would disagree with me??

Hiking group! :)

~The End~

Almost Heaven, West Virginia, blue-ridge mountains, shanendoah river....

Take me home.... to the place.... I belong... West Virginia.... mountain mama.... take me home... country roads....

Elections in Malaysia

I've never been a great follower of Malaysian politics, partly because I'm one of those youngsters who doesnt really care much about it. I admit I've always been an apathetic citizen of Malaysia, but somehow this year's election has caught my interest. I'm gonna be neutral about this whole issue and let you (if you're interested enough) to read about it from kennysia.com.

Here's the link : http://www.kennysia.com/

Check out the March posts :)

That's all from me folks. Enjoy.

Parents visiting from Malaysia :)

The last time I saw my parents was in August. It's been a long long time... My parents were actually in Manchester to watch Manchester United play soccer, and then they flew over to visit us, their precious babies!!

Dave tells me that he can't understand why I can be away from home for that long, and not miss my parents at all. Well, all I can say is: I think I'm used to it. Sad life, isn't it?? But I rather enjoy it actually! :) Relish my independent life over here and I would never trade it for anything else!! BUT BUT BUT...... I'm not saying that I don't love my parents anymore :) In fact, it was good to be away from school for a few days, and spend some quality time with my parents and sister...

Hmm... maybe I should photoshop my brother into this picture eh?? Then it'll make this picture perfect!!

At New York, Times Square. New York's my favorite city in America!!

We just like to do crazy stuff, like this: Holding hands and dancing in the middle of the street at Quincy Market, Boston. Haha. Who cares if anyone's staring at us...

Oh... and my favorite fruit - strawberries!! Well.. not exactly my fav, but one of my favs after other tropical fruits like mangoes :)

And finally, my parents got to meet my crazy friends in school! :) Awesome gang :)

Cooking night!

It's been a while since I last updated my blog... Please pardon me for that folks!! Can't fault me for being soooooo busy :)

Had a couple of fun weekends with "the gang" over here at SJU. Let me see... cooking night, baking, DC trip and skiing with friends as well. Ahh... too bad there are no pictures for skiing. Lol. Save myself from the massive embarassment of falling and bruising myself all over. Both side of my butt were covered with bruises. Can u imagine how torturous it was for me to sleep and sit!? But... as the saying goes, no pain, no gain. SOOOO TRUE!!! no pain, no FUN!!

Ok.... pictures for cooking night!!!

Yes. Chef at work eh??? Nah... actually I was just in charge of cutting.

We got bored waiting for the food to be cooked, so we camera-whored ourselves again! God knows what Jo was thinking about. She looks angry with Migs...

And finally... Asians' time again!!
